Library welcomes Tanglewood birds

Avian enthusiasts Bob and Chris Thorborg of Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum in Elmira gave more than 60 children and adults the opportunity to meet Sophie the Owl (shown at left) and Icarus the Hawk.

It was a part of a two-hour program about birds, hosted by the Children's Department on January 21. Children learned what makes birds special among the animals, constructed their own bird feeders and went bird-watching. Click Here to see more.
