"The Computer for Beginners"This class is intended for the person who has no computer experience. It will cover the basics from how to turn the computer on and off and using the mouse and keyboard to an introduction to the Microsoft Windows operating system. The student will leave this class having confronted any type of computer related fears and with basic computer knowledge. "Getting Started on the World Wide Web"-This class is designed for individuals who already possess basic computer skills such as those taught in "The Computer for Beginners” class. Participants must know how to work a mouse and be able to differentiate between a right and left click and a single and double click. They must also have basic keyboard skills. The material covered in this class will introduce the World Wide Web and the resources available on it. The student will leave this class able to navigate successfully around the World Wide Web. “Searching the Internet” -This class is designed for individuals who possess basic computer skills and have a working knowledge of how to navigate the Internet. A student attending this class will learn to use some of the most effective search tools on the Internet to find the information they are looking for. We will cover some effective search methods and perform sample searches. While the student will not be an “expert searcher” at the end of the hour, he or she will be able to effectively perform a search and know where and how to do so.
