Reflections Tour at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art: Explore the diversity of the cultures of the American West in this free self-guided tour. Uncover secrets of Native American imagery; ponder the drama of a Western courtroom scene where culture and the judicial system collide. Challenge your conceptions of the American West. The Reflections self-guided tour is free and available during the month of April in partnership with the Big Read initiative. Museum hours are Mon - Sat: 9 am - 5 pm; Sunday: 11 am - 5 pm. Kids 17 and under are free. The Rockwell Museum of Western Art is located at 111 Cedar St. in Corning. Big Read Exhibit at the Library: Visit the Southeast Steuben County Library, 300 Nasser Civic Center Plaza in Corning, during the month of April to see a display related to the Underground Railroad, the Civil War, and the struggle for freedom and civil rights, courtesy the Chemung County Historical Society. Open during regular library hours, Mon - Sun; April 1 - April 30.

 

Diversity on Canvas: Young-adult artists will create squares of canvas depicting a diversity theme to be displayed in the Young Adult area in the Southeast Steuben County Library. The Torn Page Writers Group will create and display poetry on canvas touching on themes found in Harper Lee's, To Kill a Mockingbird. Any young adult may participate.
