Relax

by Trevor Worthey

Watch the moon rise o'er the silk satin evening
Inhale sweet honeysuckle, potent on the breeze, intoxicating
Let sang-froid permeate your psyche
Allow the cool sway of the grass to soothe your mind
Apply the emollient balm of nature’s oil to your little daily wounds
Observe equestrian princesses, riding away raptly
See the leporine burrows in fields of masticated weeds
Lay on beds of verdant moss, staring up the lengths of thick trunks
Walk amongst the behemoths of the forest
Recline to look up to the heavens
Imagine what it’s like in the lofts of the divine
Relax; become one with nature
Relax; let your soul depart
Relax
