The Forgotten Princes’ Adventuring, Debating,

and Wrestling Club

by Anna Hoyler

Of the five members of the Forgotten Princes’ Adventuring, Debating, and Wrestling Club, only three were actually princes, and only one of them would count as forgotten. The other two members formed the Heirs of Nothing Really Auxiliary, but were treated like full members. The history of the club was that one day Prince Eldrin of Thigos, Prince Eon of Rhahive, and Alex were dangling their feet over a wall.

“We should form a club.” Alex remarked, watching a cloud that looked just like a pink bunny-or a dragon.

“I agree.” Said Prince Eon.

“Let’s think of a name.” Prince Eldrin ordered, and he could do that since they were in Thigos.

After a moments contemplation, Alex announced, “The Forgotten Princes’ Club.”

“But you’re not an Prince.” Prince Eon poked Alex with the grass he was chewing on.

“And I’m not forgotten.” Prince Eldrin added.

“So?” Alex asked.

And the club was born.

Prince Thonas of Zishhan brought the Adventuring, Debating, and Wrestling part when he joined. After all, Zishhan was known for its educated princes.

Now those of you who are counting may go, “Wait a minute, you said five members at the start, and that’s only four!” I have a simple explanation for that: I lied. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you’re enjoying this rabble) that’s not the truth. The real reason I’ve only mentioned four is that I’m waiting to mention the fifth.

Let’s review the members:

• Prince Eon—forgotten heir of Rhahive

• Prince Eldrin—heir of Thigos

• Prince Thonas—heir of Zishhan

• Alex—first member of the Heirs of Nothing Really Auxiliary

Kahala was brought to Alex’s uncle as a patient (Good ole uncle Ankiv was known for his skill with the disabled.) This Alex was the first of the club to see her. She sat hunched in a wheelchair, watching her lap as her parents explained to Ankiv how she’d been injured in a freak accident, and the doctors said she might be able to walk if she’d just try. Kahala also had trouble speaking. Alex instantly decided she was his project. He was going to be her friend for the three months she’d be there.

The rest of the group thought it was a wonderful idea and set to work. It took a little coaxing to get her to go out with them; then they had to persuade Alex’s Uncle it was a good idea. Soon she and her wheelchair were a familiar sight with the other four guys. Prince Eon in particular took a liking to her, which lead to a lot of teasing when she wasn’t around.

When they decided to go on a picnic, Kahala was simply loaded on a horse and taken along; sometimes they’d draw straws and one of them would carry her on their back. Alex was happy to have another member of the Auxiliary.

Thus the Forgotten Princes’ Adventuring, Debating, And Wrestling Club consisted of one forgotten prince, two normal princes, one common boy, and a girl.

It was a very odd company, but they liked it.
