Learn Microsoft Word

No classes are offered at this time.

Microsoft Word is a powerful yet easy to use word processing software that can do many remarkable things.  Come learn how to write letters, term papers, etc, make posters, use tables...

This is considered an intermediate skill course.  If you don't know anything about using a computer, we recommend taking our Novice class first.

You can sign up for any or all of the courses.  Due to limited class size, pre-registration is a must.  Call the library at 243-5938 or email the course instructor here.  If you sign up for a class and find you are unable to attend, please call to let us know, so that others can fill your spot. 

 
     
  Creating Documents, Files and Folders

After this session, you'll know how to create a simple Word document, print it, save it and file it electronically. We'll also cover spell check, cut and paste, copy and paste, and selecting text.

 
   
  Formatting Word Documents

This class will cover setting margins and tabs, using Headers and Footers, indents, bulleted or numbered lists, and changing font, font size, font color, font style, and alignment.

   
  Working With Graphics and Tables

Come learn how to insert pictures and photographs into your Word documents, and how to insert and use tables and column guides.

   
  More Word Elements

This class will cover how to do mail merges, insert files into other files, work with page and section breaks, advanced table uses, and more.

New Classes! Advanced Word

For those who have taken the first series, or who are very comfortable with Microsoft Word.

 

 

Advanced Word Part I:

Learn how to work with Styles, Tables of Contents, Indexes, Symbols, Auto Text, Footnotes, Captions, and more!

 

Advanced Word Part II:

This class will cover designing forms.  You can create all sorts of forms in Word, including interactive forms with check boxes, drop-down menus and more for use in on-screen completion.

 

Advanced Word Part III:

Learn how to work with and create templates, track changes, set security, work with frames pages, and more.
