Documents in the News Taken from official sources, this site has full text government documents on current topics. It also has archives of what was in the news back to 1995. From the University of Michigan Government Documents center.

Google News News from a variety of major publications and newspapers, updated as events unfold. Searchable and browsable by major categories.
HeadlineSpot.com Easily access more than 2600 headlines and thousands of news links by subject, location, industry, or media type. Compiled by journalists, educators, librarians, engineers, and business people.
NationalIssues.com This nonpartisan Web site promises "no spin" on the current issues it summarizes. Materials of national importance are gathered from think tanks, news sources, advocacy groups, and policy analysts and presented in summary form with links to sources for more information.
NewsCenter This directory includes links for major wire services, one-stop shops, resources using streaming media and speeches/transcripts. Maintained by librarian Gary Price.
NewsLink The resource for online newspapers around the world. The newspapers section lists around 5,400 papers and is searchable by title or location and is also indexed geographically. There are links to magazines, broadcasters, and news services worldwide, as well as a separate section for campus newspapers.
Public Agenda Online "Public Agenda is a nonpartisan, nonprofit public opinion research and citizen education organization." Its site presents "policy options and public opinion behind critical public concerns."  Extensive information on each issue includes an overview, facts and trends, different perspectives, links to news stories, and results of public opinion polls.
