The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes is pleased to announce the 2014 Decentralization (DEC) grant program.
DEC grants are made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the ARTS (NYSCA), a state agency, and administered locally by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council). DEC grants provide support to individual artists and nonprofit organizations for arts related programs in all disciplines occurring in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Tioga counties during the 2014 calendar year. The DEC program has three funding categories: Community Arts, Arts Education and Artist Crossroads.
The Community Arts (CA) category supports the activities of artists, arts groups and community organizations in service to community residents. CA grants increase the value and recognition for the arts and artists as an integral part of the community, work to enhance cultural dialogue and respect for the cultural legacies of the community, increase visibility for the arts in the community and make art as accessible as possible to the public. Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 are available for individual artists and nonprofit organizations.
