Digital Equity Project Manager – Part-time, Temporary, Contractual with a Memorandum of Understanding

Various Locations – Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Delaware, Schuyler, Steuben, Tompkins, Tioga Counties

The Southern Tier Digital Equity Coalition (STDEC) seeks to hire one part-time, temporary digital equity program manager to help establish STDEC’s position as a regional networking hub. 

This work includes data gathering, data visualizations, reports, storytelling materials, and other resources produced by and for STDEC. These data visualizations must be easily understood by community members, legislators, etc., and would help STDEC participants to have conversations around digital equity.  The program manager would also be required to develop STDEC’s website, which would contain all of the materials listed above, and created as part of the contractual Memorandum of Understanding. This position oversees four other part-time consultants. 

This position will entail working with and considering the needs of people of diverse backgrounds, including aging individuals, formerly incarcerated adults, individuals with disabilities, individuals with language barriers, low-income households, racial and ethnic minorities, rural inhabitants, and veterans.

Community Anchor Consultants (4 positions) – Part Time, Temporary, Contractual

Various Locations – Chenango, Broome, Delaware, Tompkins, Tioga, Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties: Binghamton, Elmira-Corning, Ithaca

The Southern Tier Digital Equity Coalition (STDEC) will hire four part-time community anchor consultants to assess existing local digital equity resources (examples of resources). These consultants will identify gaps in available digital literacy assistance throughout the region.  They will compile existing training for public librarians and staff at other community anchor institutions to address these needs.  In short, these consultants will examine and identify specific digital equity needs in each community and prepare detailed plans for upcoming grant opportunities. Each consultant will summarize findings, conversations, focus groups, etc. and work with the other consultants and regional stakeholders to assist in the development of future digital equity projects or recommendations.

Library Director – Part Time

Arkport Public Library – Arkport, NY

The Arkport Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and community-minded individual for Library Director. Our library is in Steuben County, which is part of the Southern Tier Library System in Upstate New York. Please see STLS.org for complete job description and application details.

The Library Director plans, organizes, directs and is responsible for the operations and activities of the library within the parameters of NYS law and the library’s policies. The library director oversees and evaluates the development and execution of educational and cultural programs, collection development, the supervision and development of staff & volunteers, and the care of the library’s facility and grounds. The director recommends policies and goals to the Library Board of Trustees. The person in this position must be a positive and flexible individual who enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and will provide leadership as the administrative branch of the library’s governance.

The candidate must have an associate’s degree or education and experience with administration and management of staff, preferably in a library environment. This position is part time.
