The Montour Falls Library is hiring one part-time Circulation Assistant (Library Clerk) that operates under the supervision of the Library Director. The Circulation Assistant works directly with patrons and visitors and is responsible for routine circulation, shelf maintenance, and clerical duties. The Circulation Assistant may be asked to complete additional administrative or program-related tasks, when needed, by his or her supervisors. This position may require lifting of up to 25lbs.
Clerical Duties including but not limited to:
– Delivering excellent customer service to all patrons.
– Answering the telephone; providing information or referring calls to the appropriate staff member.
– Shelving, organizing, and call number maintenance.
– Processing the outdoor book-drop, locating on-shelf holds, discharging and checking out materials, and creating new library cards.
– Receiving incoming transit and processing holds.
Technology Support including but not limited to:
– Computer and printing maintenance as needed.
– Troubleshoots technological issues for patrons and staff.
– Assist patrons with Mobile Hotspot issues.
– Assist patrons with the use of STARCat, OverDrive, and Libby.
Visitor Services & Tourism including but not limited to:
– Will assist in the maintenance and of the ‘Visitor Center’ of the library.
Hours & Availability:
This position is approximately 12-15 hours per week. Current hours will be Wednesday-Friday 1pm-5pm, but will move to 2pm-6pm in September. This position will also work Saturday mornings beginning in September from 9am-`1pm.
This is an hourly position. It starts at minimum wage but could increase depending on experience.

– Must be skilled using computers, printers, and learning new software
– Must be able to alphabetize well
– The Library requires all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

The Board of Trustees of the Hornell Public Library in Hornell, NY seek creative and enthusiastic candidates for the position of Library Director.
Responsibilities. The Public Library Director for the City of Hornell, NY reports to a nine-member Library Board of Trustees, and works with the Board, staff and stakeholders to support and implement the strategic vision that align the library’s mission, goals, and objectives with the community’s needs and priorities. Overall responsibilities include developing and maintaining effective internal and external communications; building and leading a diverse team of talented staff to manage all library operations; planning, evaluating and oversight of the library budget; working closely in support of/from The Southern Tier Library System and its 48 member libraries; and developing additional revenue sources. The director provides leadership and oversight for all library functions including internal and public-facing activities.
Essential attributes and skills include vision, creativity, and enthusiasm; ability to network, partner, and promote library services; budget experience; political acumen; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; consensus-building skills; and ability to work effectively with a policy-making board. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills while possessing comfort and skill in fundraising and development activities. The Board seeks a progressive, energetic candidate with a passion for the work of libraries and a thorough knowledge of current trends, technologies, and “best practices” for library services.
Preferred qualifications: Library Director experience or 2+ years in an administrative capacity within a public library environment and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
Compensation: Salary Range $48,000-$55,000 depending on years and range of experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick time and optional health, vision and dental insurance and NYS Retirement.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This is a level 4 full time, exempt, non-professional position serving in a leadership role within the Division of Information Technology. The IT Procurement Specialist provides support to member libraries relative to all aspects and approaches of library technology operations, specifically IT systems design, procurement of library system and member library equipment, setup and maintenance of staff & public computers and the coordination of E-rate funding for system-wide Internet connections. Areas of expertise might include: library IT patronexperience, facility design relative to IT setup, uniform procurement practices, policy development, Internet connectivity, digital inclusion, relationship building, trending services and leadership.
