Planning ahead…some ideas for your programming RADAR

Whew! The plans for summer are set! You are ready to go. Congratulations!

But, wait….NOW is the time to start mapping out some programming (active and self-directed) for the Autumn months! Just a few things to have on your radar: September is Roald Dahl Month. September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. And, the end of September and beginning of October focus on the freedom to read with Banned Books Week (September 27-October 3). The end of October features Teen Read Week (October 18-24) with a theme of Get Away @ Your Library. November is National Picture Book Month. And, of course, International Games Day is celebrated on November 21.

What other events are on your RADAR screen?

I am assembling a ‘programming calendar’ of events—BIG and SMALL to help with programming plans….Please share big and small celebrations that should be included on this calendar…anyone celebrating National Underwear Day?
